Today, the 12^th of July 2007, marks one year since the start of the Second Lebanon War.

It is inconceivable that to this day, there has been no report of an official investigation into the charge of mass media deception by the Hezbollah regarding the “Qana Massacre”. In this incident dozens of Lebanese civilians, including children, were allegedy killed by Israeli bombing of a building in the village of Qana in Southern Lebanon on the 30th of July 2006.

During the War, the United Nations made decisions condemning Israel for “massacre” in the Qana incident - based upon questionable “proof”– without first conducting a thorough unbiased investigation of the vastly growing evidence pointing to possible fabrication.

 

The Qana incident was termed a “turning point” in the War – just at a time when there was in fact talk of a ceasefire.  Was this crucial turning point actually the product of deceitful misleading of the press and the public?

 

For the public’s inspection:

This may still seem preposterous to intelligent logical people.  However, it is well worth giving your full attention to the following material gleaned from the Internet during the period of the War.

 

Mounting suspicious material pointed to the definite possibility that the Qana incident was staged.  “The well-documented use by Palestinians of this kind of faked footage -- from the alleged shooting of Mohammed Dura in Gaza in 2000, scenes from Jenin of "dead" victims falling off gurneys and then climbing back on -- has merited the creation of a new film genre called 'Pallywood.' There is increasing suspicious evidence that the Qana sequel is another episode in this genre, a variety which might be called Hezbollywood” (quoted from the website IsraelInsider). Can this be defined as “legitimate war propaganda”, in accordance with the Geneva Convention?

A filmed t.v. image is imbedded in the memories of many of us:

a Palestinian man protecting his son, Mohammed Al Dura, from alleged Israeli fire. That photo hangs on the walls of many homes in Arab countries, and many people around the world are sure that the story is true. LIES CAN BE DEADLY. HISTORY HAS ALREADY PROVEN THIS.  Truth is a precious commodity. "You will not bear false witness against your neighbor." (from the Ten Commandments – Exodus 20)

 

There was eventually no public action which led to an immediate impartial investigation by the U.N. or the U.S.A. or a mass self-inquiry of the media for its role in the deception of the public.

During the Second Lebanon War, more and more conscientious people – of many religions and nations – waited anxiously for a serious unbiased response to the question: WAS THE QANA TRAGEDY STAGED?!! Were the press -and consequently the public - led to believe a lie??!! Or worse still, was some of the press accomplice to this mass deceit?  This is an all-important subject which should have been thoroughly and immediately investigated, and the truthful findings exposed to the public.  This is not an academic or theoretical question. Every day that has passed has multiplied the ramifications of the possible lie – the growing hate, violence, destruction. 

 Despite the vast amount of documented material to be examined, the truth about the "Qana Massacre" has yet to be disclosed.  It is unbelievable that even today this story is still being repeated at high levels of government and in the media - EVEN IN ISRAEL - without mentioning in the same breath the near certainty of massive deception of the public. Yes, in Israel, there are many today who blindly accept Israel's responsibility for the deaths of the civilians in Qana in the Second Lebanon War and for this “turning point” in the War. 

The appalling victory of the strategy of fabricating news is obvious; and one doesn’t need to be a genius to understand that Israel's enemies will continue to use and improve this effective demonic propaganda weapon unless it is destroyed.

If conscientious men are silent today, the treacherous weapon of mass media deceit will eventually be used against more and more nations and will come closer and closer to each man's home.
